Classroom Building Replacement

YMD Boon was appointed by Ace Derbyshire Trust to prepare a CIF bid for the replacement of a classroom building at Norbury C of E Primary School, and to manage the project following successful funding approval.

The existing outdated and deteriorated mobile classroom accommodated a single classroom with no ancillary facilities and low efficiency heating provisions. Through a detailed submission to the Department for Education, our funding specialists successfully secured Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) for a full replacement building.

Following the funding award, YMD Boon was appointed as Project Managers and Contract Administrators for the construction phase, with R G Stones undertaking the construction works on site in under 8 weeks.

The new classroom building now provides improved teaching accommodation, including flexible classroom space with an internal dividing partition, integrated storage facilities, WC provision, and a welcoming entrance lobby, creating a much better environment for pupils and staff alike. The building is linked to the main school building by an enclosed canopy which also provides the school with further storage and sheltered areas.

We continue to work with Norbury C of E Primary and Ace Derbyshire Trust to deliver further CIF funded projects including a new Air Source Heat Pump for the school
