Roof Replacement

YMD Boon was appointed by Gartree High School to deliver roof replacement works to the main school building and sports hall.

We successfully secured £3.5m of Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) funding from the Department for Education and were subsequently appointed to provide project management and contract administration services. MJE Contracts (Leicester) Ltd was appointed as the contractor for the scheme.

The funding application was supported by detailed condition surveys, structural investigations, and feasibility studies, which identified the need for comprehensive upgrades. Following approval, YMD Boon has managed the project through to completion.

The main school building works were delivered across six carefully planned phases, allowing the school to remain operational throughout.

The project addresses key condition issues, including the replacement of a failing roof deck which had lost its structural integrity and continuous roof leaks throughout the school. Key works include the installation of a new roof structure, full waterproofing and insulation, new ceilings & lighting throughout and a new triple glazed atrium. The associated M&E works included removal and reinstatement of the sprinkler system, air-conditioning and ventilation plant as required.
