Restoration Works to The Old House

YMD Boon is delivering multidisciplinary services as Lead Designer, Project Manager, and Contract Administrator for the restoration of the Grade II listed Old House at Castle Rock School in Coalville, on behalf of Lionheart Educational Trust.

The project involves a comprehensive programme of sensitive internal and external alterations, carefully designed to preserve the building’s historic and architectural significance while enabling its continued use. An initial full building condition survey informed the development of the scheme, supported by detailed modelling and the successful achievement of Listed Building Consent.

Works on site are progressing well, with significant restoration of original features underway. Traditional craftsmanship is being applied alongside modern conservation techniques to maintain the building’s character.

Externally, roofing works, stone repairs, and window restorations are advancing, while internally, decoration and plastering are bringing spaces back to life. YMD Boon continues to manage the project through to completion, with Oliveti Group delivering the works.
