YMD Boon took great pride in coordinating a special Christmas Lunch for more than 200 pupils and staff from St Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Market Harborough. With support from Harborough-based firms, we successfully brought the school community together for the first time in months to celebrate the festive season.
The event was hosted at Harborough Town FC at no cost, and the lunch was provided by mobile caterers Keythorpe Catering at a discounted rate, funded by YMD Boon. Transportation to and from the venue was provided by Auden Clark and Wilsons Coaches at no cost.
The support and contributions from local businesses, including Specsavers, Waitrose, Co-Op, and Sainsburys, played a pivotal role in making the day extra special.
The event featured a special appearance from Santa Claus, who warmly welcomed the excited children upon their arrival. Each child received a thoughtful gift from Santa as part of the festive lunchtime celebration.
YMD Boon and Harborough Town FC staff took on the role of waiters and waitresses for the day, serving and clearing more than 200 Christmas lunches and desserts.
The school hall and kitchen at St Joseph’s Catholic Voluntary Academy remain closed, after Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) was discovered in the building, although the school remains fully open to pupils.
