YMD Boon is proud to announce the successful completion of a new nursery building, named ‘The Hunny Jar’ at Broom Leys Primary School in Coalville, Leicestershire. Appointed by Hunny Nurseries, a respected nursery provider in the region, this project addressed the shortage of nursery places in Coalville. The Hunny Jar marks their 9th nursery.
In their role as lead designers and project managers, YMD Boon identified an under-utilised section of the school’s playing field for the development of the new nursery block and accompanying car park. This strategic placement ensures that the building is prominently positioned for the community and provides the nursery with its own dedicated access from the main road.
Working closely with the Hunny Nurseries leadership team, YMD Boon designed a building layout specifically tailored to their needs. The process began with an in-depth analysis of the nursery's operational requirements, focusing on safety, functionality, and creating an engaging environment for the children. Multiple consultations with the Hunny Nurseries team were held to ensure the final design aligned perfectly with their vision and operational needs.
Jonathan Bill, Owner of Hunny Nurseries, expressed his appreciation, stating:
"The Hunny Jar Coalville Ltd has just taken possession of a new modular nursery building in Coalville, Leicestershire, located on a school site. We sincerely thank YMD Boon for their professional and diligent project management throughout the entire process. They successfully navigated the complexities of dealing with multiple local and government bodies, guiding the project from initial design through to completion. We were kept fully informed at every stage and firmly believe that engaging YMD Boon Ltd was our best-ever decision, as undertaking this project on our own would have been an enormous challenge."
Jonathan Warren, Director at YMD Boon, added:
“We are proud to have worked in partnership with Hunny Nurseries on this project, ensuring that the design not only meets the functional and safety requirements but also creates an inspiring environment for the children. The seamless coordination between our team, the nursery, and various stakeholders was key to overcoming the challenges of this project, and we are delighted with the outcome."
