Funding: Basic Need, Section 106, Condition Improvement Fund (CIF)

Services: Principal Designer, Architecture, Contract Administration, Project Management, Masterplanning

We were appointed by Rise Multi-Academy Trust to carry out a school expansion of St Peter & St Paul C of E Academy in Leicestershire.

In the early stages of project, we complied a development master plan based on the school’s aspirations to grow from accommodating 420 pupils to 630 pupils. To produce the masterplan, we carried out a net capacity assessment and presented the different options to the school. We reviewed the school accommodation in accordance with BB103.

We liaised with the local authority to obtain Basic Need and Section 106 funding. As well as this, we carried out various condition surveys of the school buildings and grounds and secured funding for other necessary works through CIF bids, including re-roofing and upgrading of heating within the existing school building.

We agreed to deliver the proposed expansion in two phases over 3 years. During the first phase we managed the build of multiple new classrooms, group rooms, ancillary facilities, and a significant extension to the current car park. The second phase will see the development of a new 1200m2 playground and a series of new classrooms and toilet facilities.
