We were appointed by the University of Derby to design and deliver the internal refurbishment and remodelling across the campus, with a total construction value of £5m.
After the briefing meeting, our team modelled all affected areas at the University. By using Revit software and providing the information in 3D format, it made the end user consultation a lot easier and consequently speeded up the decision-making process.
Due to the short timeline, we organised a workshop with the stakeholders and presented all schemes and collectively we put together an initial design. We took along a set of room data sheets so that finishes and FF&E requirements were captured at the same meeting. The layouts were signed off by the client team within a couple of days; ensuring packages could be procured to meet the delivery programme.
Over the summer period, we carried out the refurbishment of six laboratories and majorly remodelled the internal spaces to provide high quality teaching, social areas and office spaces.
