Worksop Fire Station

Client: G F Tomlinson on behalf of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service

Project Brief: Design and deliver a new-build Fire Station

Services: Architecture

We were appointed by G F Tomlinson on behalf of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service to deliver the £3.4m new-build fire station in Worksop.

The new building, which is located at the Vesuvius development in Worksop, has replaced the existing station on Eastgate, which was built in 1963.

The station has been designed with the latest in renewable technology and will have the capacity to self-generate up to 50 per cent of its energy needs.

The new fire station consists of meeting rooms, offices, fire engine bays and a gymnasium for firefighters. An external three-storey training tower and compound store has also been built, as well as new car parking spaces and external landscaping.

The fire station provides the best possible facilities for firefighters to carry out their critical work and serve the surrounding Bassetlaw community.

The new fire station represents a significant investment for the Bassetlaw District.
