Project Brief: Joint HQ for the Police and Fire Rescue Services in Nottinghamshire
Services: Architecture, Principal Designer
We were appointed by Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue to design and deliver a new Joint HQ and remodel and upgrade their existing accommodation at their headquarter site in Sherwood.
The new facility includes office spaces, a control room, silver suite, casualty bureau, interview suites, classrooms, healthcare facilities, break-out areas, ICT training, crime training, L&D, a resource room, a sports hall, administrative meeting rooms, secure storage equipment, conferencing facilities, lecture theatre, first aid training facilities, a canteen/dining hall and a full commercial kitchen, lockers/showers and gymnasium for staff.
The £18.5m project included developing a new three-storey building on the Sherwood Lodge site to provide a replacement control room, accommodation for the wider Contact Management Team and Nottinghamshire Police Force Training School, a multi-purpose hall, canteen facilities, a new gym and changing facilities, additional open place offices, training rooms, resource rooms, a conference room and refreshment areas.
As well as this, we have refurbished the existing accommodation to include new interview rooms, an open plan office, IT space, classrooms, server rooms and ICT rooms.
We also redeveloped the site to include parking capacity for 940 spaces, re-configured the road network to improve vehicle movement and security on site and removed trees and buildings where no longer required to improve the landscape.
